Flashopen has addressed children’s physical and cognitive development requirements at every specification level of the Kids Junior: the 1.0 HP motor drives the belt across the 1 to 6 km/h range — a walking and light jogging range appropriate for the cardiovascular fitness levels of children in the target age group — without the high-speed capability that would create genuine injury risk in unsupervised use. The parental lock system — a 4-digit PIN code entered on the console before the unit will power up — prevents children from operating the treadmill without adult knowledge and supervision, addressing the primary safety concern that parental buyers identify about treadmill use with children in the home. The console height is set at 650mm from the floor — appropriate for the ergonomic reach of a 6 to 14-year-old — rather than the 1000mm to 1100mm of adult machines that would require children to reach uncomfortably upward for speed controls. Safety stop key operates identically to the adult Flashopen range — a wrist-cord magnetic key that stops the belt immediately on separation. The running surface is 950mm × 350mm — narrower and shorter than an adult belt to match the shorter stride length of children and reduce the belt area that a child could contact in a fall.
