Flashopen measures the Ultra Quiet at a maximum of 42 dB at 1 meter at full speed — below the ambient noise level of a quiet room and comparable to the sound of pages being turned in a library. This measurement is achieved through the combination of the dual-belt isolation drive, motor enclosure acoustic treatment, vibration-dampened roller bearings, and Flashopen’s anti-resonance frame — a steel frame with internal polymer foam inserts in the hollow section tubes that absorbs the structural vibration that hollow steel frames amplify. The dual-belt drive system is the primary engineering innovation: the motor drives a primary short timing belt connected to a transfer shaft, and the transfer shaft drives the running belt via a second independent coupling. The air gap and mechanical isolation between the two drive stages prevents motor vibration from transmitting directly to the running belt and frame, which is the primary path of vibration and noise transmission in conventional single-belt drive systems.
